Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi awarded a young software developer for her recently developed cryptocurrency price tracking app. On the other hand, the government is debating over the country’s policies on crypto.
Modi Awarded The App Developer
Although, India is among the countries skeptical of cryptocurrencies, PM Modi has given an award to a young developer Harshita Arora for developing a price-tracking app for cryptocurrencies. PM Narendra Modi tweeted:
I am delighted that the very talented Harshita Arora has been conferred the Bal Shakti Puraskar 2020! She has been focusing on a wide range of sectors. Her passion towards science, technology and human welfare are clearly visible.
As per the developer, Kumar Harshita Arora is an 18 years old developer.
The app aims at the management of the portfolio of cryptocurrencies and tracks the price of the currencies.
Moreover, there were about 49 winners in several tiers. Harshita Arora was awarded the Bal Shakti Puraskar 2020 based on her innovation. While speaking with the winners, PM Modi stated that he got inspiration from young entrepreneurs.
He further encouraged them by saying that the work done by the winners at this young age is impressive.
According to some sources, the Bal Shakti Puraskar award is the government’s award given to children of multiple fields every year. The award is given to children for their exceptional work in innovation, arts and culture, sports and bravery, and social service. As per the report, Harshita Arora stated:
“My app received a lot of positive feedback from the crypto community and got thousands of paid downloads in the first 24 hours of launch which led it to becoming the #2 app in the Finance category of the App Store.â€
The purpose of the app is to track the price of about 1,000 cryptocurrencies which are from more than 18 exchanges based on 32 fiat currencies.
Also, the app manages the portfolio of cryptocurrencies. Furthermore, users will be able to create time-based alerts to get notified by the coin prices.
