While most of the public gatherings have been forcibly postponed or canceled globally due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it has an equal effect on the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.
As the global coronavirus crises continue, some of the largest blockchain conferences including Bitcoin 2020, Consensus 2020, India Crypto Bulls, EDCON 2020, Paris Blockchain Week Summit and many others have either rescheduled or decided not to host this year at all.
However, this outbreak does not affect some of the smart professionals of this industry, especially event organizers who had announced high profiles as their speakers. Instead of following the suit of other organizers and postponing/canceling the event, a Turkish crypto PR Agency EAK Digital is continuing to host its blockchain conference, BlockDown virtually. The nib of the fact is that the virtual event will be attended by well-known rapper and crypto entrepreneur - Akon.
Initially, EAK Digital scheduled its own offline conference known as “Istanbul Blockchain Weekâ€, however, they quickly turned the plan of hosting an offline conference online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It's worth noting that Akon will join other attendees virtually and the event will roll the panel discussion and press conference. In addition to Akon, this online event debuts Roger Ver of bitcoin.com who is also known as ‘Bitcoin Jesus’ and Jimmy Song, Bitcoin Evangelist.
Moreover, Erhan Korhaliller, the founder of PR agency EAK Digital stated that Akon will speak about his crypto network, Akoin. As reported, Akon will also launch a competitive dApps platform, enabling projects to pitch for the Akoin app ecosystem. Korhaliller further added that:
The online conference “<...> compensates for the absence of all of the...conferences that we have seen canceled over the coming months, including Paris Blockchain Week, Istanbul Blockchain Week, and Korea Blockchain Week.â€
Unlike other conferences, BlockDown is leveraging the fullest benefit of crypto enthusiasts through hosting an online conference. While lockdown led people to stay at home, the founder added that they need a fun and social environment’. This being said, BlockDown 2020 could use its network to bring the community together, he emphasized.
