Perhaps the whole world knows about the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who was killed in police custody in Minneapolis on Memorial Day. On top of all, how thousands of people across the various countries are marching in solidarity with American protesters. 

While protesters are chanting slogans including “Black Lives Matter”, “Stop Killing Us”, and No Justice, No Peace”, crypto leaders are widely sharing five words statement about Bitcoin. They are proudly stating, Bitcoin is a peaceful protest. In fact, one of the protesters caught with a poster that reads, ‘Bitcoin will save us” which then got the attention of several crypto proponents and community members. 

It’s been almost a week for Floyd's death and US cities have been extending curfews to avoid violent protests. With protests erupting throughout the U.S., cities and some turning to violent, Associated Press reported that the police have arrested about 4100 people in U.S. cities over the weekend.

Amidst the mass protest, Bitcoin's twitter handle tweeted “Bitcoin is a peaceful protest’ which is also well-picked by the CEO of Binance crypto exchange, Changpeng Zhao (CZ).

Moreover, responding to Bitcoin’s tweet on May 16, a Twitter user responded that "Bitcoin is a peaceful protest against the world’s banking system and the government system as well". 

However, the term isn’t popping up for the first time. There have been multiple reports on the web that have shared several insights to justify statements like this. Essentially, they pointed out Bitcoin as a path to democratizing money and as a proven alternative to the mainstream financial system.
